I completed my undergraduate degree in 2008 at the Johns Hopkins University. There I studied English, Psychology, and Theatre Arts. I earned my Master of Social Work degree at the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities in 2015. Before starting my private practice in Minnesota as a therapist in 2016, I worked for or volunteered at Perspectives, Inc., the Minnesota AIDS Project, MPSI Psychotherapy Center, and PrairieCare. Prior to returning to school for my MSW, I performed in regional theatre (northern New Jersey, Michigan) and Off-Off-Broadway in New York City.
Some issues I enjoy working with include anxiety, codependency, coping skills, creativity, depresion, divorce, family conflict, grief, life transitions, relationship issues, stress, and trauma and PTSD.
My main approach to therapy is to be curious. I’m curious with my clients about whatever it is that’s brought them to my door and as a therapist, I’m always thinking and learning about the healing power of the therapeutic process. I approach interactions – inside and out of the consulting room – with warmth, humor, vigor, and humility. When not working, I enjoy travelling (this picture is from a trip in 2017 to Albania, visiting Berat), reading, crossword puzzles, and walks around Minneapolis’ lakes.
